“Lost in work, time slipped away.
Outside, twilight darkened to blue.
Above me, light wavered like water.
I stayed with it, and something in me loosened.”

La Kuu is a quiet apparatus of light that creates a moment of release. It constructs the psychological landscape of the tea ceremony. Within a single bowl, the tea practitioner perceives scenery, nature, and the cosmos, while at the same time encountering the reflection of their own shifting mind. By engaging with this layered perception, the heart gradually softens.

The bowl is crafted in the Raku tradition favoured by Sen no Rikyū. A narrowed beam of light brings forth the bowl’s irregular surface and depth of tone.

Above it, a lighting structure made of black bamboo and brass incorporates the mechanism of a traditional adjustable hook known as jizaikagi, allowing vertical movement. This mobility enables the work to adapt sensitively to the surrounding space.
