Nai no Do

Nai no Do is a narrative film set on the coastline of Kochi, Japan, an area threatened by the predicted Nankai Trough earthquake and tsunami.

Set in 2056, the disaster has still not occurred. A practice begun decades earlier by researchers walking the coastline and recording landscapes, objects and memories has gradually developed into a pilgrimage known as Nai no Do.
