Riichiro Yamamoto is a Japanese artist and architectural designer based in London.

His practice is rooted in the Great East Japan Earthquake and explores how physical matter records and carries memory across time. He approaches built environments and landscapes as recording vessels that outlive human lives, accumulating traces of people and culture across generations. Moving fluidly between analogue and digital, tangible and intangible forms, his work spans conceptual art, moving image, digital reconstruction, and spatial practice, situating fragile human memories within geological processes to reconsider our relationship with the environment.
